How bath resealing works in Renfrewshire
Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. Typical jobs include stained silicone and silicone coming away from the tiles, on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures.
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Local landmarks in Paisley
We visit homes around Castlehead High School, St Luke's Church and Gallows Green and the streets around them. There is a railway station in Paisley itself: Paisley Canal station. Other landmarks nearby include Riccartsbar Hospital (under half a mile west) and Paisley Museum (0.6 miles north). Green spaces nearby include Walls Loch and Neilston Pad.
Honest limits
We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
Repairs by material
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Keep the joints dry
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Let steam out after showers
- Ventilate the bathroom well
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
Prices and what affects them
You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- Access to the area
- What kind of damage it is
- The material
- How many items we do on one visit
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your photos
Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Any details about the material
Most customers in Renfrewshire get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Renfrewshire questions
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Do you cover the whole of Renfrewshire?
We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.
