Bath resealing in Braco, done in place
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for an untidy old seal and missing sealant behind the taps, on shower trays & enclosures, baths and basins & vanity units.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

What affects the price in Braco
You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The material and finish
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your photos
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Looking after it afterwards
It’s all simple stuff:
- Open a window after bathing
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

When we’d advise against a repair
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Hidden water damage
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
Different materials, different repairs
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Why it’s worth resealing in Braco
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

What we do, step by step
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes around two hours, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let us know about parking or access

Common questions in Braco
Do you cover Braco?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Braco from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
How much does bath resealing cost in Braco?
We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
What happens if you find more damage?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
Do the materials smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.
Common problems we fix in Braco
Joints split if the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Damp near the bath
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Stained silicone
