Bath resealing in Bubbenhall without replacing anything

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s silicone smeared on tiles and black mould in the sealant, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Warwickshire.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

How it works

Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow around two hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Common problems we fix in Bubbenhall

In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • An untidy old seal

10 questions to ask before you book

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Open a window after bathing

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, typically around 24 hours.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Landlord and trade work in Bubbenhall

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
