DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

About our bath resealing in Cadley

Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. Typical jobs include gaps by the taps and an untidy old seal, across basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Cadley: your questions answered

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

What areas do you cover?

All of Lancashire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Why it’s worth resealing in Cadley

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Work done at your home or business
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

How it works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Choosing a repair company

How we price bath resealing

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • How much damage there is
  • The material
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Air the room after use

Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
