How we handle bath resealing in Charlestown
A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they protect the walls and floor. Typical jobs include unsealed corners and black mould in the sealant, across kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How it works
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes around two hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Why reseal now?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A flexing bath
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
How to look after the repair
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:
- Air the room after use
- Use the extractor fan
- Keep the joints dry
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, generally around 24 hours.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
What bath resealing costs
We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The material
- The size and number of damaged areas
Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Send pictures for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The material, if you know it
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Your questions about bath resealing in Charlestown
How long will it take?
Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.
Do you cover Charlestown?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Charlestown. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
