Bath resealing at your home in Chatham
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Whether it’s old sealant that looks dirty and sealant that’s split or lifting, we can normally put it right.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Questions from Chatham
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Do you cover Chatham?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Chatham. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How long does silicone take to cure?
We will give you the curing time, generally around a day.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone will not bond to old.
How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes about two hours for a bath, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about parking or access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
Related advice
Common problems we fix in Chatham
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Leaks at the edges
- Unsealed corners
- Old sealant that looks dirty

Landlord and trade work in Chatham
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Chatham use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Prices and what affects them
Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Doing more than one item at once
- What the surface is made of
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
- The material, if you know it
- A photo taken from further back
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Why us?

Keeping it looking good
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Air the room after use
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
