Trusted bath resealing in Cocks

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Bath resealing in Cocks, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Whether it’s an untidy old seal and gaps in the seal, we can help, on baths, basins & vanity units and wet rooms alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which typically takes a couple of hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we will talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Questions from Cocks

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Do you come to Cocks?

Yes, we do. Repair technicians travel to Cocks from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What affects the price in Cocks

Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The size and number of damaged areas

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Any details about the material
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
