Druids Heath questions
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Is there any odour?
A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Do you cover the whole of Birmingham?
All of Birmingham, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Druids Heath as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
How it works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
How to get a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.
Advice
Do you need bath resealing in Druids Heath?
In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Stained silicone
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Damp near the bath
- Sealant that’s split or lifting

Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
When a repair is not the answer
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hidden water damage
- A flexing bath
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
Materials we work on in Druids Heath
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
Looking after it afterwards
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Let steam out after showers
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
