About our bath resealing in Greenlooms
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Typical jobs include gaps by the taps and gaps in the seal, on baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Why it’s worth resealing in Greenlooms
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
What we can’t put right
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What affects the price in Greenlooms
Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The type of damage
- The colour and finish to match
- How many items we do on one visit
The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Quotes from your pictures
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The material, if you know it
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Greenlooms questions
How long before I can shower?
We will give you the curing time, generally around a day.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
Is there a guarantee?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
How long does a reseal take?
Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.
Is it messy?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to around two hours, including clearing up.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Clear the area around the damage
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
