What your bath or shower is made of matters
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
How we handle bath resealing in Grimness
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We’re frequently asked to fix a messy previous reseal and sealant that’s split or lifting, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

What a repair cannot fix
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in the Orkney Islands and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
Why reseal now?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why book with us
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

How we price bath resealing
There is no area surcharge for Grimness. The price reflects:
- The material and finish
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Natural light rather than flash
If you are in Grimness and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
How it works
On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take around two hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
How to get a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
