Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Hazelwell, Birmingham
Local bath resealing for Hazelwell: a fixed quote from photos, a tidy visit and a one-year guarantee.
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Black mould in the sealant
- Discoloured, yellow sealant

Aftercare tips
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Use the extractor fan
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Let steam out after showers
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
Bath resealing in Hazelwell without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. We regularly repair shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are mould you can’t clean out and damp near the bath.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Birmingham and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Why it’s worth resealing in Hazelwell
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Why us?
- Usually one visit, start to finish
- Fixed prices from your pictures
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- A year’s guarantee on all work

What we do, step by step
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.
How to prepare
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Clear the area around the damage

What affects the price in Hazelwell
We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Hazelwell. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- The material, if you know it
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Hollow or loose tiles
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Hazelwell: your questions answered
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Do I need to be at home?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.
