Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Getting a price from pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

About our bath resealing in Holy Land

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s damp near the bath and mould you can’t clean out, we can help, on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths alike.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Liverpool.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes around two hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Common questions in Holy Land

Do you cover the whole of Liverpool?

We work UK-wide, so Holy Land is covered. Prices don’t change with location.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

How long before I can shower?

Normally after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

When to call us in Holy Land

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Black spots in the silicone

Choosing a repair company

Why it’s worth resealing in Holy Land

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Air the room after use

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
