Bath repair at your home in L17

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the following day. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are a chip where the taps sit and chips along the edge of the bath.

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the following day.

Near you in St Michael's Hamlet

Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to The Belgrave pub, St Michael-in-the-Hamlet Community Primary School and Otterspool Promenade. Nearby too are St Michael's Church (within half a mile north) and King's Leadership Academy (less than half a mile west). St Michael's Hamlet has its own railway station: St Michaels station. Nearby you will also find Clayton Square Shopping Centre (2.4 miles north-west) and South Toxteth (within half a mile north). The countryside around St Michael's Hamlet includes New Ferry Butterfly Park and Princes Park lake.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Signs you need bath repair

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Chips under the taps
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Repairs by material

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Repair or replace?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead.

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
