Bath resealing at your home in Inveraray
A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, as one neat, continuous bead. We are often asked to fix old sealant that looks dirty and sealant that’s split or lifting, across kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
- Keep the joints dry
- Open a window after bathing
Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
When a repair isn’t the answer
Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hollow or loose tiles

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Can you price it without visiting?

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
