Our bath resealing service in Argyll and Bute
Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Common call-outs are for gaps by the taps and stained silicone, in basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.
There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take around two hours, including clearing up.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Cost
A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
Why book with us
- No need to remove anything
- Most jobs done in one visit

Near you in Helensburgh
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Lomond School, The Henry Bell pub and St Joseph's R.C. Church and the streets around them. Helensburgh has its own railway station: Helensburgh Central station. A little further out are Ardencaple Castle (1.3 miles west) and Victoria Infirmary (0.5 miles south-east). Open spaces near Helensburgh include Lyle Hill.
When we’d advise against a repair
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- A flexing bath
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Landlord and trade work in Argyll and Bute
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Argyll and Bute use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
Why repair rather than replace?
Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- What prep work is covered
Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Open a window after bathing
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Give the seal a regular clean
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
