Need bath resealing in Kilhallon?

What we are called out for in Kilhallon

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • An untidy old seal

What your quote should include

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Who will actually do the work

10 questions to ask before booking

Bath resealing in Kilhallon, done in place

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. If you are dealing with gaps in the seal and discoloured, yellow sealant, we can normally put it right, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, for example:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

Aftercare tips

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Common questions in Kilhallon

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do you work in Kilhallon?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Kilhallon for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Kilhallon. Our prices are the same everywhere.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can you price it without visiting?

Generally, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. Allow about two hours for a bath, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
