Bath resealing at your home in Par

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Whether it’s water getting behind the bath or tray and old sealant that looks dirty, we can help.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Resealing in Par: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • One visit for most repairs
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • A messy previous reseal

10 questions to ask before you book

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you are not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a couple of hours. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Prices and what affects them

There is no charge for travel to Par. The price comes down to:

  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Questions from Par

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

How long does resealing take?

Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can new silicone go over old?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone won’t bond to old.

How long before I can shower?

Typically after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.
