Bath Resealing in Lilybank
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone for householders, landlords and businesses in Lilybank. Send photos for a free, fixed quote.
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Black spots in the silicone
- A messy previous reseal

Bath resealing at your home in Lilybank
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Common call-outs are for old sealant that looks dirty and unsealed corners, across shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

What happens on the day
When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a couple of hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Ask for a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Lilybank questions
Do you work in Lilybank?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Lilybank and the rest of Glasgow. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
What happens after I send photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.
When we’d advise against a repair
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Wet rooms
Common problems we fix in Lilybank
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.
The things clients typically mention when they call are:
- Unsealed corners
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Black mould in the sealant
What your quote should include
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- When it can be used again
- How your room will be protected
- If travel is included in the price
What bath resealing costs
A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:
- How many areas need work
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How many items we do on one visit
- Access to the area
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed price
When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Details of any past repairs
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath or shower, we can give you a fixed price.
Repairs by material
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Looking after it afterwards
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Open a window after bathing
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
