Bath resealing near Llanbadoc

Bath resealing in Llanbadoc, done in place

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and people most frequently call us about black spots in the silicone and a messy previous reseal.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Different materials, different repairs

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What affects the price in Llanbadoc

You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether we combine several jobs

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Any details about the material

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Llanbadoc as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Signs you need bath resealing in Llanbadoc

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

The things customers generally mention when they call include:

  • An untidy old seal
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Aftercare advice

Our hiring checklist

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • No extra charge for your area
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Everything repaired in place

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Aftercare tips

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

How it works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take a couple of hours, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
