Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Maer, Cornwall
Bath resealing for Maer, without a refit. Send us photos for a fixed quote, then we come to you.
- Black mould in the sealant
- A messy previous reseal
- Discoloured, yellow sealant

How it works
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice
Bath resealing at your home in Maer
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Typical jobs include missing sealant behind the taps and an untidy old seal, on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and basins & vanity units.
All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cornwall.

Keeping it looking good
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Air the room after use
- Keep the joints dry
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.
Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
Why reseal now?
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Maer. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Questions from Maer
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Maer.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
You will get a fixed quote back, usually with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Can I fix it myself?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
