How to compare quotes

Bath resealing at your home in Morningside

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and people most frequently call us about stained silicone and leaks at the edges.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Common questions in Morningside

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send photos.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Do you cover Morningside?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Morningside for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How we price bath resealing

There is no charge for travel to Morningside. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • Any details about the material

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

Related advice

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
