Bath resealing in Normandy without replacing anything
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. We work on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths, and common reasons people contact us are unsealed corners and sealant that’s split or lifting.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in Normandy and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Let steam out after showers
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Use the extractor fan
- Keep bottles off the joints
Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
What happens on the day
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes about two hours for a bath. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
How to prepare
- Open a window if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

When to call us in Normandy
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning can’t get it all out.
Look out for these signs:
- Sealant that’s split or lifting
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Unsealed corners
- Leaks at the edges
Before you book anyone
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- Who turns up on the day
- How soon you can use it again
- How your room will be protected
Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Normandy as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
How we price bath resealing
Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How many areas need work
- Access to the area
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Send pictures for a quote
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Any details about the material
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Send us a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Normandy, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Why reseal now?
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Normandy. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Normandy questions
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
How do I book?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Will the price change on the day?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Honest limits
It helps to know what we cannot do:

- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
