Bath resealing at your home in Ordsall

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops, with mould-resistant sanitary silicone. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, plus curing time. Our repair technicians work on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and people most often call us about old sealant that looks dirty and unsealed corners.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

When to call us in Ordsall

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Gaps by the taps
  • A messy previous reseal

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath in most cases. The room is left tidy.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Ventilate the bathroom well

Keep the room well ventilated, and dry the joints after bathing.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Ordsall questions

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Greater Manchester.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What information do you need?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

How we price bath resealing

There is no charge for travel to Ordsall. The price depends on:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Ordsall. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Most customers in Ordsall get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
