About our bath resealing in Weaste

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s mould you can’t clean out and old sealant that looks dirty, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Weaste. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Any details about the material
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Weaste as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Common questions in Weaste

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Weaste?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes around two hours, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Getting a price

Resealing in Weaste: why it matters

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
