Need bath resealing in Rew?

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How we handle bath resealing in Rew

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Whether it’s missing sealant behind the taps and silicone smeared on tiles, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Rew and across Dorset.

Resealing in Rew: why it matters

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book.

When we would advise against a repair

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear pictures are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Air the room after use

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

How it works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes about two hours for a bath. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.
