About our bath resealing in Slough

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. If you are dealing with stained silicone and gaps in the seal, we can help.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes a couple of hours.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Advice

Landlord and trade work in Slough

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Slough as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • The material and finish
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Slough, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Questions from Slough

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you cover Slough?

We do. Technicians travel to Slough from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
