When to call us in Southwood

Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • An untidy old seal
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Stained silicone
  • Missing sealant behind the taps

Questions to ask before booking

  • When it can be used again
  • How to look after the finish
  • If travel is included in the price
  • What preparation is included

Choosing a repair company

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • One price list for the whole UK

How the visit works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes around two hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Advice

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Air the room after use
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Southwood

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For anyone letting property in or around Southwood, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no area surcharge for Southwood. What changes the price is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Southwood. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the photos on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, with your GU14 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
