Bath Resealing in Stobswell
Fixed-price bath resealing in Stobswell and the surrounding area, done in a single visit in most cases and guaranteed for a year.
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- A messy previous reseal
- Mould you cannot clean out

Bath resealing in Stobswell, done in place
A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for gaps in the seal and leaks at the edges, in kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and basins & vanity units.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Stobswell. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
How we price bath resealing
We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Doing more than one item at once
- What the surface is made of
- How much damage there is
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the photos on your phone. Make sure they show:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
The process
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a couple of hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure the area is dry
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Questions from Stobswell
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we will quote them together.
What happens once I’ve sent pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
Do you come to Stobswell?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Stobswell and the rest of Dundee. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
When a repair is not the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Hidden water damage
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Aftercare tips
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
Repairs by material
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
