Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in The Chessels, Bristol
Our repair technicians come to The Chessels for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Everything is done in place, and the work is guaranteed.
- A messy previous reseal
- Black mould in the sealant
- Missing sealant behind the taps

Bath resealing in The Chessels without replacing anything
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. If you’re dealing with stained silicone and an untidy old seal, we can normally put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and baths alike.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Air the room after use
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
- Dry the seal after bathing
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How we price bath resealing
We do not charge extra for travel to The Chessels. The price comes down to:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How hard the colour is to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
How to get a fixed quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Details of any past repairs
- Where you are, by postcode
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
Resealing in The Chessels: why it matters
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
