Bath resealing in The Stocks without replacing anything
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are leaks at the edges and discoloured, yellow sealant.
Every job is backed for twelve months in The Stocks and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Signs you need bath resealing in The Stocks
Sealant splits when the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Damp near the bath
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Gaps by the taps

Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
What we can’t put right
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Hidden water damage
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Hollow or loose tiles
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Baths
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
The process
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a couple of hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.
How to prepare
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Make sure the area is dry

DIY repairs versus a professional job
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Resealing in The Stocks: why it matters
Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Common questions in The Stocks
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.
Are there extra charges for The Stocks?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
My seal keeps tearing. Why?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
You’ll get the curing time from us.
How long does a reseal take?
A bath or shower generally takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
