About our bath resealing in Voe

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and baths, and people most often call us about damp near the bath and stained silicone.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

  • Missing sealant behind the taps

Questions from Voe

Do you work in Voe?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Voe for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Voe and the rest of the Shetland Islands. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.

How long will it take?

Typically a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Normally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What bath resealing costs

We don’t charge extra for travel to Voe. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Upload a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Voe, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Air the room after use

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Landlord and trade work in Voe

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in the Shetland Islands and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

What a repair cannot fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Hidden water damage

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

The process

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a couple of hours, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
