Bath resealing at your home in Whitecross

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Our technicians work on basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are gaps by the taps and mould you can’t clean out.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Keeping it looking good

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Prices and what affects them

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

If you are in Whitecross and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What we cannot put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Do you need bath resealing in Whitecross?

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, frequently because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Damp near the bath
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Gaps by the taps

Before booking anyone

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Who will actually do the work

10 questions to ask before you book

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Ensure the area is dry
