Coloured bath resurfacing in Appley

Repair or replace in Appley?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Everything repaired in place

Read our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Appley, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We’re often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, in whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the following day.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Appley questions

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire suite and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

When to call us in Appley

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

If you manage property in Appley, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.
