Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Furnace

Coloured bath resurfacing in Furnace, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, on coloured basins, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes one to two days for a full suite for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Furnace

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Furnace.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

What affects the price in Furnace

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any details about the material
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Furnace

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Questions to ask before you book

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • When it can be used again
  • How the colour is matched

What a repair can’t fix

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Landlord and trade work in Furnace

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
