Coloured bath resurfacing in Old Town without replacing anything

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

Why us?

  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Old Town?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How to look after the finish

Choosing a repair company

What we do, step by step

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. You can expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, generally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Landlord and trade work in Old Town

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Old Town as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We don’t charge extra for travel to Old Town. The price comes down to:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Old Town. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
