Tile repair in Old Town, done in place
The tile stays where it is, so there is no need to hunt for a matching tile. A loose or rocking tile may need relaying first, and we will say so. We work on porcelain tiles, natural stone & granite and marble, and people most frequently call us about drill holes from removed fittings and discontinued tiles you can’t replace.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Avoid dropping heavy items on repaired floor tiles, and use a pH-neutral cleaner.

How the visit works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We start by cleaning the tile and clearing loose fragments.
- We fill the chip, crack or hole.
- We shape the repair flush with the tile.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- Finally we seal it to match the tile.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice
Should you replace it?
Swapping out a damaged tile means breaking it out, tracking down a matching tile and possibly cracking its neighbours. Repairing it leaves the tile where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Old Town. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- What kind of damage it is
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- A photo taken from further back
- Where you are, by postcode
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
For a price in Old Town, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Old Town: your questions answered
What information do you need?
Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
What happens if you find more damage?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
When we’d advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- Loose or hollow tiles that need relaying
- Cracks caused by a moving floor, until the floor is fixed
- Whole walls of failing grout
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Porcelain tiles
- Ceramic tiles
- Floor and wall tiles
- Natural stone & granite
- Marble
