Non-slip bath coating in Old Town

Non-slip bath coating in Old Town without replacing anything

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. If you’re dealing with resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people, we can generally put it right.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

What non-slip bath coating costs

There’s no charge for travel to Old Town. The price depends on:

  • How many areas need work
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your photos

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Most clients in Old Town get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays

What happens on the day

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job generally takes a few hours. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, typically overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Common questions in Old Town

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas

Questions to ask before you book
