How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Rookby
Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Common questions in Rookby
Can you price it without visiting?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
What about the toilet?
Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
What happens if you find more damage?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Are there extra charges for Rookby?
We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
When a repair isn’t the answer
A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Coloured shower trays
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
Should you replace it?
Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
What you get with us

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Rookby?
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.
Look out for any of the following:
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
Questions to ask before booking
- How to care for the finish
- Whether they match the colour on site
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- How changes to the job are handled
For landlords and businesses
Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:
- The type of damage
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What the surface is made of
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
Send pictures for a quote
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- The material, if you know it
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

How the visit works
You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.
How to prepare
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Ask for a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
