Ellerby questions
Is my repair covered?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?
Only slightly: the treated area looks slightly matt.
Non-slip bath coating in Ellerby without replacing anything
The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. If you’re dealing with safety for older or less mobile people and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, we can help, whatever the material.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Honest limits
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Resurfaced baths
- Shower trays
- Wet room floors (ask us)
- Enamelled baths
- Acrylic baths
What we do, step by step
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean and degrease the standing area.
- We mask out the area to be treated.
- We put on the clear non-slip coating.
- The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
- The coating is left to cure before use, normally overnight.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

Repairing versus replacing in Ellerby
The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
Why us?

When to call us in Ellerby
Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- Worn-out textured areas
- Safety for older or less mobile people
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
Comparing quotes
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- When it can be used again
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
- How the room is protected while they work
Landlord and trade work in Ellerby
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What non-slip bath coating costs
Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The type of damage
- Unusual colours or finishes
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.
Send pictures for a quote
Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
- Any details about the material
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
