Non-slip bath coating for Lizard homes

What affects the price in Lizard

Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • The material

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Non-slip bath coating in Lizard, done in place

It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. Our repair technicians work on acrylic baths, enamelled baths and wet room floors (ask us), and common reasons people contact us are a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and worn-out textured areas.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Lizard as everywhere else we work. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Repair or replace in Lizard?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Lizard customers choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • One visit for most repairs

Take a look at our prices page.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes a few hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access

When we would advise against a repair

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Enamelled baths
  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Questions from Lizard

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Are there extra charges for Lizard?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When to call us in Lizard

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

The things clients normally mention when they call include:

  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
