What a repair can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths

Non-slip bath coating in Port Lion without replacing anything

It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. Whether it’s safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, we can normally put it right.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Repair or replace in Port Lion?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Prices and what affects them

We don’t charge extra for travel to Port Lion. The price depends on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The size and number of damaged areas

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SA62 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Our hiring checklist

What happens on the day

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a few hours. We leave the room clean and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
