Non-slip bath coating in Trembraze

Non-slip bath coating in Trembraze without replacing anything

It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. Whether it’s a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and safety for older or less mobile people, we can help.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

Honest limits

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Enamelled baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, normally overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Make sure the area is dry

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in Trembraze

How do I clean it?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Trembraze

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Prices and what affects them

You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower tray

To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Safety for older or less mobile people

Questions to ask before booking

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How changes to the job are handled
