How we handle non-slip bath coating in Turn
It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. We regularly repair acrylic baths, shower trays and enamelled baths, and common reasons people contact us are worn-out textured areas and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Turn and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

When to call us in Turn
Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
People usually call us after spotting something like this:
- Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
- Worn-out textured areas
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
Before booking anyone
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- How soon you can use it again
- How your room will be protected
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
Repairing versus replacing in Turn
Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
- The area to be treated is masked out.
- We put on the clear non-slip coating.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- We leave it to cure, generally overnight.
Getting ready for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Getting a price
Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Turn, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Related advice
How we price non-slip bath coating
Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- A photo taken from further back
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Where you are, by postcode
Most customers in Turn get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Very little: it shows as a matt area where you stand.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
