How bath repair works in FY8
A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. Typical jobs include hairline or through cracks in acrylic and rust by the waste and overflow, across whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
What it costs in FY8
Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

When we’d advise against a repair
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- A steel bath rusted through
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
Work for landlords and builders
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.
If you manage property in FY8, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Signs you need bath repair
Damage during fitting is very common. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, often before anyone notices. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
Look out for any of the following:
- Chips under the taps
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Repairing versus replacing
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is.

Common questions in FY8
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
