Our bath repair service in G14

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We’re frequently asked to fix chips along the edge of the bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Cost

Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Landlord and trade work in G14

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

How the damage happens

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A chipped rim or side
  • A chip where the taps sit

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Repair or replace?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.
