Bath repair at your home in S71

We’ve repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands. We work on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and scratches you can feel with a fingernail.

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. You can expect it to take a morning or an afternoon.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the day after.

Landmarks near Barnsley

We visit homes around St Mary's Church, Yorkshire Bank pub and Horizon Community College. Other local landmarks include Holgate School (0.8 miles west), Locke Park (0.9 miles south-west) and Queens Road Academy (within half a mile east). Barnsley has its own railway station: Barnsley station. Further afield, we also cover the area around Barnsley Hospital (1 mile west) and Alhambra Shopping Centre (under half a mile south).

Repairing versus replacing

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit.

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How changes to the job are handled

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Have new chips seen to early

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

How the damage happens

Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage is not always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Chips along the edge of the bath

FAQs for S71

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Are there extra charges for S71?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes S71. Prices do not change with location.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
