How we handle shower tray repair in Eastfield
You do not always need a new tray. If it’s solid underneath, it can normally be repaired in place, saving you the cost and mess of a new one. We regularly repair acrylic, stone resin and cast iron, and common reasons people get in touch are a cracked shower tray and snagging damage in a new bathroom.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What affects the price in Eastfield
Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Eastfield. The price depends on:
- How much damage there is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many items we do on one visit
- The type of damage
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
If you are in Eastfield and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What else we do in Eastfield
Looking after it afterwards
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Do not use strong acids or bleach
- Do not stand heavy bottles on the tray
- Check the seal every few months
- Give the tray a quick rinse after use
Check the silicone around the tray every few months, and replace it when it splits or goes black.
Every shower forces a little water into a crack, and over months that can rot the floor. An early repair is far cheaper than floor repairs.
Eastfield questions
Is it OK to use a cracked tray?
Only if you are sure it isn’t leaking. Check the ceiling below for damp.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Will the price change on the day?
Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Can a stained tray be refinished?
Yes. The whole tray can be resurfaced without removing it.
Honest limits
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A tray broken in more than one place
- Water damage to the floor beneath the tray
- Leaks from the waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Stone resin
- Cast iron
- Ceramic
- Acrylic
- Enamelled steel
Repair or replace: which is better?
If the tray is solid and the crack hasn’t let water spread, repair is usually best. If water has damaged the floor, or the tray is cracked in several places, a new tray may be better. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why book with us
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

- Dust sheets down, tidy finish

What your shower tray is made of matters
Enamelled steel
Steel trays have an enamel surface like a steel bath. Chips can rust if they’re left, so it’s worth repairing early.
Ceramic
Ceramic gives a hard, high-gloss surface. They chip and crack from impact, and the repair is polished to match the shine.
How it works
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- We protect the floor and the enclosure.
- Old sealant is removed if it’s in the way.
- We clean and key the tray, then repair the damage.
- We refinish the surface to match the tray.
- We clean up and give you the curing time.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Getting a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire shower tray, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
Related advice
Landlord and trade work in Eastfield
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Eastfield as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
