Toilet chip repair in Edge

Toilet chip repair in Edge, done in place

Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we will say so if we find one. Our repair technicians work on vitreous china, pedestals and porcelain, and the jobs we see most are chips on the pan or rim and chips on the cistern lid.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Take care with heavy items and clean the outside of the pan gently.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Landlord and trade work in Edge

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

What toilet chip repair costs

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair typically costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What happens on the day

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes an hour or two, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. The repair is polished so it blends in.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Ask for a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Repairing versus replacing in Edge

Replacing a toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. Repairing the chip keeps the toilet you have. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Edge. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Read our prices page.

What we cannot put right

A repair is not always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Vitreous china
  • Porcelain
  • Toilet pans
  • Cisterns & lids
  • Pedestals

Do you need toilet chip repair in Edge?

Toilets and cisterns normally get chipped during fitting, or from a dropped lid or bottle. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly often.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Marks on the outside of the pan
  • Pieces knocked off during fitting
  • Chips on the pan or rim
  • Damage from dropped items

What your quote should include

  • Who will actually do the work
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
