Toilet chip repair near Maxton

What a repair can’t fix

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Cisterns & lids
  • Pedestals
  • Vitreous china
  • Toilet pans
  • Porcelain

How we handle toilet chip repair in Maxton

A crack that leaks can’t be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we’ll tell you if that is what we find. Chips are rebuilt and colour-matched to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. We regularly repair cisterns & lids, vitreous china and porcelain, and people most often call us about pieces knocked off during fitting and damage from dropped items.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Avoid dropping heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

Before and after: a damaged ceramic basin restored

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes an hour or two. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. Missing material is filled and rebuilt to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. The glaze is colour-matched and finished.
  5. We polish the repair to blend it in.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the toilet, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Related advice

Should you replace it?

A new toilet needs a plumber and possibly new flooring, and the matching cistern may be discontinued. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Our toilet chip repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

FAQs for Maxton

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Can a chipped toilet be fixed?

Yes. Chips to the pan, rim, cistern and lid are the most common jobs.

What happens after I send pictures?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

What about a leaking crack?

No. That needs a new toilet. We repair cosmetic chips and breaks.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Our hiring checklist

How we price toilet chip repair

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Something in shot to show the size

Most clients in Maxton get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
