Trusted toilet chip repair in New Town

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

How we handle toilet chip repair in New Town

We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so you don’t need a plumber or a new toilet. A crack that leaks cannot be fixed with a cosmetic repair, and we will tell you if that’s what we find. Whether it’s chips on the pan or rim and chips on the cistern lid, we can help.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Take care with heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

New Town: your questions answered

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Are there extra charges for New Town?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do you cover the whole of Edinburgh?

Everywhere in the UK, New Town included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including New Town. What changes the price is:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A picture taken from further back

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your EH3 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for one to two hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned and dried.
  2. We fill and rebuild missing material to the original shape.
  3. We sand it flush.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole toilet, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Advice

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip leaves it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

When we’d advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
